Arena International is proud to announce the release of the Clinical Trials Yearbook 2018. As with every edition, the yearbook acts as a comprehensive guide for the pharma, biotech and medical device industries by outlining the key issues seen in the previous year. Looking back on 2017, there were a number of significant developments that continue to affect how clinical trials are conducted. Such developments showcase how the industry continues to change and evolve. 2018 brings even greater challenges; therefore the Clinical Trials Yearbook 2018 seeks to be your definitive guide in such testing times.

This will be the first edition to be split into two sections: the ‘2017 Lookback’ and the ‘2018 Outlook’ which will both cover a variety of topics. The 2017 Lookback will provide a retrospective take on all the major themes to emerge in the past year. From the EU push to make clinical trials more transparent to the incredible rise of biosmilars, 2017 was a highly eventful year. As 2018 approaches, this section takes stock of how the industry has changed by debating topics such as real world data and key developments in the EU. We also feature, case studies from senior-level executives from companies both large and small including Merck (US) and Orsus Medical (Germany).

The 2018 Outlook shines a spotlight on key issues that could influence how clinical trials are conducted in 2018 and beyond. Although a huge focus of the section will be on data generation in the era of GDPR, other topics discussed include the impact of Brexit on the UK’s status as an industry player and patient-centric trials of the future. This section will also feature notable contributors from big pharma companies including AbbVie (US) and Novartis (US).

We hope that by learning from the challenges of the year before, you are able to prepare for the year ahead in the pharma, biotech and medical device industries. Enjoy!
