Why Milan

After two successful years in Barcelona, CTS Europe is moving to the beautiful city of Milan, Italy’s manufacturing heartland. Since the late 1800s, Milan has been an important industrial and manufacturing centre, especially for the automotive industry, chemicals, machinery, pharmaceuticals and plastics, health and biotechnology and food & beverage.

In addition to being the home to many Italian pharmaceuticals, Milan is a fast-paced metropolis imbued with culture, cuisine and great weather. Milanese cuisine is a product of a rich urban culture. Milan continues to push the boundaries of Italian cooking, there is much more on the menu than pizza, pasta and espresso. Home to the famous Negroni cocktail and the addition to saffron in risotto expect your post conference meals to be filled with excellent products and rich tastes.

In addition to visiting Milan’s famous Duomo where you can grab a fantastic view of the whole of the city, why not book some tickets for the opera at the Teatro alla Scala which will be showcasing Orphée et Eurydice during the dates of conference. Alternatively you can enjoy some artwork at the Pinacoteca di Brera, which contains one of the most important art collections in Italy or if you prefer modern art you can enjoy Museo del Novecento and Gallerie d’Italia. You can also marvel as the locals do at Unicredit Building, which for many residents, has become to symbolise the new Milan.  Erected in 2011, its illuminated spire evokes the Duomo, whilst stretching its height those extra few inches, making it Milan’s tallest building at 231 metres.
