About Fire Protection and Safety in Tunnels Europe
Our Fire Protection and Safety in Tunnels series has been running successfully for four years throughout Europe, with over 150 delegates attending year on year. Billions in new tunnel developments are taking place globally and older tunnels refurbished to allow easier cross border movement and meet current regulations that have massively evolved since their initial 70’s design. In Europe, regulations have evolved to address major tunnel incidents that have occurred such as the Mont Blanc incident, and these regulations massively impact how tunnels operate and cater for safety. Delegates have been attending Fire Protection and Safety in Tunnels every year due to its case study example approach and its ability to map out the steps and options needed to comply with evolving standards. Not only does the event attract European delegates but there is an increasing audience attending from North America and Asia.
The event benefits from a semi streamed approach, dividing road and rail specific approaches in regards to emergency response and technical requirements. By creating this balance the two transport sectors can learn from each other yet also benefit from tailored case studies.
Due the headway being made at these events, we are taking the event to Singapore in February to bring this focused event to the Asian Tunnel and Transport market. The event will benefit from both European and Asian case studies and look at optimal strategies operationally and technically ensure they can achieve fire safety especially in some of the longest tunnels in the world.
