Mac Smith, is an I.T. Professional, who has held a number of senior Information Technology positions with major global companies based in the UK and for the past 15 years managed his own consulting company.

Mac has experience in many of the technology industry disciplines including Operations, Development, Networks, Service delivery and Executive management which have been gained in a variety of differing environments including Hospitality, Manufacturing, Shipping and Technology companies.

Mac was head of I.T. for Avis Europe during which time he introduced counter automation across Europe and the global integration of distribution and service.

Subsequently Mac was Vice President of I.T. for Hilton International.  In this role, Mac led the organisation through a period of extensive change, which positioned Hilton International as a leader in technology innovation and established some important and influential industry partnerships.

Recent consulting assignments include a £25 million communications infrastructure upgrade project for a major retail chain, assisting the startup of a Channel Enablement program for an Asian airline, advising on the technology upgrade for a substantial eastern European hotel chain and the development of a hotel operation and distribution SaaS service for small UK hotels..

Mac is a member of the Advisory Board for an Austrian hotel technology development company.

An excellent communicator & strategic thinker, Mac has the ability to work at all levels to formulate strategies and agree priorities and by working with internal teams and vendors, turn these into solutions aimed at increasing revenue and curtailing costs and managing the delivery.

Mac also specialises in negotiating effective vendor contracts and service agreements in complex projects.
