Highlights from Digital Transformation in Insurance Conference 2017

2017 saw delegates gather to explore the latest developments in digital transformation in the insurance market. The event chaired by Matt Cullen of the ABI and Ruby Ghunia of GlobalData featured 2 distinct streams of presentations from some of the leading insurers and brokers in the UK and beyond. The 2 days gave attendees the opportunity to discover new technology and new ways of working which have brought about improvements not only for the customer but also those which give companies a competitive edge.

Highlights included:

Our industry research has consistently showed that it’s not a lack of technology which is holding back digital transformation but the huge organisational changes it demands. Andre Guyer, Head of Global Transformation, Zurich talked about how they undertook digital transformation. Offering insight into the Zurich journey, Andre highlighted the benefits to the individual and how change be achieved on a wide scale basis.

The first conference day culminated in a lively, almost heated debate about the impact of Brexit on the industry. Gone are the days of complacency, insurers need a competitive advantage in order to steer their way through the unknown consequences of Brexit and we questioned whether digital may hold some answers.

The second day of the event continued to offer practical advice on what insurers and brokers can do to support innovation internally; LV=, RAC, Liberty and Swiss Re all joined us to talk about their journeys to digital transformation and how they’re approaching innovation.
