Founder, Crawford Partnership Architects
Crawford Partnership is an award winning London based architecture and interior design practice established 20 years ago by founding partner Alan Crawford. The work of the practice covers a broad spectrum of building typologies with projects mainly focussed in the capital. Over the years Crawford Partnership has established a growing reputation for innovative design solutions, and in 2007, the practice was included in *WALLPAPER Design Magazine Architects Directory as “One of 101 of the world’s most exciting new architects”.
All our projects embody solutions to the many challenges that present day design and construction are required to address, with a commitment to energy conservation and incorporation of sustainable building techniques, whilst at the same time being firmly rooted with a driving ambition to create beautiful, contemporary, and functional buildings, that explore opportunities to maximise light and space, and to incorporate new and innovative materials and technology in their construction.
Crawford Partnership continues to enjoy an interesting and diverse workload that ranges from bespoke residential new build contemporary homes and sensitive refurbishments to existing properties that are Listed Buildings or in Conservation Areas, and with an increasing number of office and commercial projects in our portfolio. A key area of our of research at present is addressing the growing issue of the provision of new homes that are well designed and affordable for a rapidly expanding London population, an issue that is increasingly problematic in all major cities around the world
Alan Crawford is the founding partner of Crawford Partnership which he runs with his wife Maria.
Alan set up Crawford Partnership as a design led architecture and interior design practice after spending 7 years as a partner in another London based practice, based in the Middle East.
Alan has been privileged to be a judge and a presenter in the prestigious LEAF International Design Awards during the past three years, enjoying the opportunity to meet and discuss design and construction with both entrants and recipients of these awards as well as the many exhibitors who attend from across the globe. He continues to be passionately involved in the judging of several other national and international design awards each year.
