Content for OCT New England 2016 agenda confirmed

The agenda has been finalized for this years’ OCT New England conference and there are lots of exciting new topics that will be presented. The first day, 7th September, is streamed with stream A focusing on a strategic toolkit for outsourcing with topics including how to decide when it’s appropriate to outsource, contract writing and a very interesting debate on procurement vs. outsourcing departments. Stream B focuses more on the patient and trial site side of running clinical trials - Sessions include a panel discussion on finding trial sites that are in high demand along with patient recruitment and effectively using patient reported outcomes.

At the end of day one delegates will have the opportunity to hear from current and past patients on their experience and thoughts on patient recruitment and will be able to find out where there is opportunity to increase enrolment in our exclusive patient panel discussion.

Day 2 on 8th September is again split into 2 streams; a medical device stream and a boipharma stream. The medical device stream has multiple case studies focusing on outsourcing using a hybrid model, global trials and looking at early feasibility trials. There will also be an interactive workshop on the changes in FDA and considering patient preferences.

The Biopharma stream looks at how much you can rely on your CRO along with a focused panel discussion on running rare/orphan disease trials. You’ll also get the opportunity to hear a case study from Alexion Pharmaceuticals on risk and contingency management in clinical trials.

We are looking forward to welcoming back Ken Getz, Director and Associate Professor, Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development. Ken will be giving a presentation on the current CRO landscape and how it is changing.

The 2 day conference will close with a series of roundtable discussions, which is a superb opportunity to network with colleagues and go in depth into the operational challenges of running clinical trials.
