Sugar Free & Punchy Packaging

A key focus of discussion was the ongoing battle with sugar levels across the beverage markets. With presentations from both brands and suppliers, there is an evident conscious movement to make beverages that are appealing to consumer health needs, whilst also proving attractive in terms of flavour. The balance is crucial to have, ands something the industry will continue to tackle over the coming years.

In addition, innovative packaging is also a key point at the top of consumer priorities. And interesting presentation from Danone Waters showed how simply packaging innovations helped engage children in the ‘plain’ water category, whilst Nestle offered an insight into how engaging packaging can help draw people to your products in an out-of-home environment.

These are key issues to address, and considering the talk amongst many European nations of a sugar tax that will replicate the UK’s, they are elements that will need to be considered carefully in all future innovations.
