Emer Mulvaney is Contracts Manager and PPI Programme Manager at Cancer Trials Ireland, working across clinical trial start-up, strategic partnerships, and patient and public involvement. Originally trained as a Radiation Therapist, her background in direct patient care continues to shape her approach to research and healthcare delivery.
She is a strong advocate for compassionate, evidence-based care and believes that clear communication is central to good healthcare and meaningful research participation. Her work focuses on improving the efficiency of clinical trial set-up in Ireland, with a strong interest in how Ireland can become a more agile and responsive environment for cancer research and trial delivery.
Emer is deeply committed to embedding patient voices throughout the research process and believes that the best way to improve healthcare and research is to listen to the people who experience it directly. Through her work with patient partners, clinicians and researchers, she supports practical, meaningful approaches to PPI that create real impact.
