Group Head of Sustainability, Nordea

Anja Hannerz is Group Head of Sustainability at Nordea responsible for the Nordic expert team driving Nordea’s strategic sustainability priorities including including thematic and impact analysis, governance and regulatory implementation. She also holds the Nordic chair of the UNEP FI banking board and and a member of the board at the Swedish research center Sustainable Finance lab.

Anja has 25 years of experience from the Nordic financial sector, having led large business transformation projects ESG factor integration, financial risk infrastructure and operational efficiency. With her deep knowledge from leading complex projects, she has pioneered inclusive leadership and organisational development through continuous improvements throughout her career.

Before joining Nordea, Anja held several different senior leadership roles within the Swedish commercial bank Handelsbanken Group, most recently as CFO Sweden and CRO of the mortgage institute Stadshypotek. She holds a Master’s degree in Finance from Gothenburg school of Economics and Law and is based in Stockholm, Sweden.
