In 2024, Saudi Arabia awarded more than $15bn worth of water projects, its largest ever annual total. This record spend underlines the importance the Kingdom attaches to the water sector as a critical component of its 2030 Vision.
At the core of this push, is the Saudi Water Partnerships Company (SWPC) in its role as the principal offtaker and purchase of desalinated, purified, treated and untreaded water. With more than $14bn of operational or under construction investments across 20 assets in addition to 29 plants in tender or in planning totaling more than $20bn, SWPC is one of the world’s largest water project clients.
As with most utilities in the Kingdom, the company employs the public private partnership (PPP) model to all of its developments, engaging the private sector to finance, build and operate its facilities, and by doing so not only secures the nation’s most important resource but helps nurture private sector involvement.
In this MEED Live broadcast, SWPC will highlight its key future project opportunities and explain how interested developers, contractors and suppliers can submit expressions of interest, qualify and participate in its unprecedented capital investment programme.
The session will open with Edward James, MEED’s Head of Content & Research, delivering a brief 15-minute outlook on the regional water sector projects market, setting the scene for a second, 30-minute presentation by SWPC where it will go into more detail on its future projects and how companies can participate in them.
It will be followed by a live Q&A session, giving the audience the opportunity to engage directly with Edward and SWPC, and ask questions about SWPC’s plans and how they can be involved.
For any stakeholder interested in water projects, the webinar will be an exclusive opportunity to hear from and question Saudi Arabia’s key water client directly, and benefit from its ambitious expenditure plan.
