Packaging and Converting Executive Forum 2020 will take place as scheduled on 11-12 March at The Imperial Riding School Renaissance Vienna Hotel.
The Packaging and Converting Executive (PACE) Forum is an established and highly focused event that brings together packaging, procurement and sourcing directors to discuss key challenges faced by the packaging industry. This unique event also brings together executive and popular brands to discuss the current trends and innovation in this space.
Join us for our 16th year to exchange and discuss ideas and solutions over two days of case studies, interactive roundtables, panel discussions and practical one-to-one business meetings.

Biography: Dominic heads up GlobalData’s global packaging consulting operations. He has 37 years’ experience in international marketing research and consultancy, specialising primarily in the analysis and forecasting of the packaging industry. During his career, Dominic has worked with clients throughout the packaging supply chain covering a wide variety of projects. Dominic has a BA Honours Degree in Modern Languages (German & Dutch) from the University of London, holds the technical Diploma of the UK Packaging Society and is a Certified Member of the Market Research Society. He has managed over 600 international market research projects and undertaken consulting work for most of the world’s leading packaging converters and suppliers.

Biography: Born in Sweden 1962. Finished my studies with a Bachelor in Business and administration. I started to work for IKEA in 1992 in the local Italian purchasing organization. Moved to Sweden in 2000 to the product development and supply chain headquarter of IKEA situated in the small town of Älmhult. Working first with global strategic purchasing and later with product development projects. Nick Gumery
Creative Buyer for Packaging,Lush Cosmetics
Biography: Nick has been an Ethical Buyer at Lush for seven years, sourcing the most environmentally friendly materials to use in packaging and shop fit-outs. Nick’s packaging remit covers recycled plastics, glass, wood, cork and metal packaging. He has worked on many interesting projects including the use of 1000s of square meters of reclaimed wooden floorboards for shop furniture production and also bringing in a source of wood from Sustainable Forestry and Re-wilding initiatives for use as in-store signage display. Giving the company a fully transparent supply chain whilst also supporting regenerative practices on the ground. Nick is also responsible for introducing natural cork into Lush stores, leading a two year regenerative material project in Portugal. The cork pot is the first customer facing carbon positive piece of mainstream packaging to be released into the market place. He is a keen organic vegetable grower and sits on Lush’s Permaculture and Agroecology Circle which helps fund fledgling projects and demonstration sites around the world to promote this alternative approach to modern monoculture farming.

Tony Waite
President,APEAL, The Association of European Producers of Steel for Packaging
Biography: Tony Waite is Sales Director Packaging at Tata Steel Europe and the current President of APEAL, the Association of European Producers of Steel for Packaging. He joined Tata Steel in 1999 and has held a number of commercial roles within the organisation looking after Original Equipment Manufacturers from Industrial Packaging, Radiators, Domestic Appliances and Automotive tiers. Prior to his current role, he was Regional Head for EIMEA based out of Dubai where he looked after Tata Steel operations in the region and was responsible for all the sales of products into the region from both the European and Indian operations. He holds a BSc in Technology and Management, as well as an MBA from the University of Warwick in the U.K.

Biography: Steve works as Design visual identity within Diageo Europe & Africa and led the creation of new brands, brand identities and packaging of some of the biggest global spirit and beer brands that exist today, such as Guinness, Hop House 13, Smirnoff, Captain Morgan, Roe & Co, Haig Club and many more. Living in a world of great choice means that consumers are more brand and design conscious than ever. To this end, Steve believes design is in such a pivotal and exciting time right now and going forward. Consumers fully grasp the power of great design and expect it. Great design will have to deliver more than ever before to be valued and trusted, and brands will win or lose on their ability to connect with consumers through design. Stephen Wilkins
Chief Executive Officer,Child Safe Packaging Group
Biography: Stephen Wilkins was educated at Blackrock College, Dublin and The University of Durham Business School where he obtained a Masters Degree in Business Administration. He is a Chartered Scientist, a Chartered Environmentalist and a Fellow of both the Institute of Materials Minerals and Mining and the Royal Society of Arts. He was appointed chief executive of the Child-Safe Packaging Group upon its formation in 1995 and has driven its activities since then. The Child-Safe Packaging Group has been responsible for the design and development of numerous new child resistant packaging designs, in both flexible and rigid packs. Stephen Wilkins advises manufacturers on the development of CR packaging, on the need for that packaging and, in more general terms, he advises clients on strategic marketing issues, usually associated with packaging and its semiotics. In addition he is a director of Davies Development and Testing Limited, a laboratory, accredited by UKAS, to undertake testing of child resistant packaging under various European and International standards. He also sits on a number of BSI and ISO committees concerned with developing standards for packaging, and he chairs two of these. He also acts for clients in the UK in disciplines other than packaging, where he delivers marketing communications consultancy and parliamentary liaison. Adeline Farrelly
Secretary General of FEVE,The European Container Glass Federation
Biography:
In June 2008, Adeline was appointed Secretary General of FEVE, the EU Federation for Glass Packaging and Tableware Producers. She is Member of the Board of CETIE the European inter-professional organization of Brand-Owners and packaging producers, as well as Glass Alliance Europe (GAE) and holds the post of GAE Secretary General on a rotating basis.
Adeline has spent 28 years in Brussels working for various private and institutional organisations including the EU Commission, EU Parliament, Deloitte, and EuropaBio – the EU association for biotechnology industries.
Born in Ireland in 1963, Adeline holds a degree in Politics and Spanish from University College Dublin (UCD) and later by night earned a certificate in marketing from the Marketing Institute of Ireland. She is an active member of the Countess Markievicz group supporting Women for Election.
