Chris is an Associate Director at Zaha Hadid Architects, where he joined in 2006. He is particularly interested in the application of advanced digital technology for the resolution of complex design challenges, and he is involved with all aspects of project design and project team building with the firm. His experience encompasses a wide range of project types including residential, cultural and infrastructure, and he regularly leads project teams to produce complex, high profile and large-scale schemes.
Prior to joining ZHA, Chris gained six years’ experience with Foster & Partners, where he developed a number of major projects including Hearst Corporate Headquarters in NY and the competition winning Florence Rail Station in Italy. He was also one of the original members of the firm’s Specialist Modelling Group, a research and development team that explores the fields of digital and building technology.
His experience has been instrumental in the design and development of several schemes at ZHA where he led the Signature Towers in Dubai, a mixed use trio of towers, and Stone Towers, a business park and landscape development in Cairo. He has also led many competitions including the winning competition for 2 Murray Rd, a state of the art office tower now under construction in Hong Kong’s Central Business District.
As project director for the nearly complete One Thousand Museum, an ultra-luxury residential tower in Miami, he led the design team from its earliest concept design through to construction administration. On a site overlooking Biscayne Bay, the 62-storey design comprises 83 luxury condominiums with a variety of amenities including a one of a kind top of tower event space and aquatics centre.
In his early career Chris worked for firms in North Carolina and Georgia before moving to London. He is now a registered architect in the UK.
