Matteo Mattei is Director Illicit Trade Prevention in Europe at Philip Morris International. Matteo and his team are responsible for: development and deployment of anti-diversion measures and supply chain controls for PMI products, including smoke-free alternatives; building strategies to accelerate return of volumes to legal markets; implementation of the EU Tobacco Products Directive article 15 on tracking and tracing and article 16 on security features.
He started his career in Philip Morris Italy in 2004 and over the past 14 years has held a variety of external affairs roles as Media Relation manager, Government Affairs manager and head of the Global Strategic Initiatives team.
In his private life Matteo is a pilot of touristic and hydro planes as well as a professional guitarist.
