Neil McKeganey is the founding Director of the Centre for Substance Use Research which opened in 1994 at the University of Glasgow before becoming wholly independent research company in 2011. Professor McKeganey is the author of over 200 peer reviewed publications and six books. He has conducted research on a wide range of topics assessing the impact of legal and illegal drug use and has advised the U.K Government, U.S. Government, WHO, and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. Since 2017 Neil McKeganey has led a wide-ranging research programme focussed on behavioral studies contributing to the PMTA process – assisting companies in identifying who is using their products (adults and young people), intentions to use products that are not currently on the market, and the rate at which adult smokers using ENDS products are able to switch to exclusive ENDS use.
