Dr. Tim Sandle

Dr. Tim Sandle is a pharmaceutical microbiologist, science writer, and journalist. Dr. Sandle is a chartered biologist and holds a first-class honors degree in Applied Biology; a master’s degree in education; and a doctorate from Keele University.

Dr. Sandle has over twenty-five years of experience in microbiological research, quality assurance, and biopharmaceutical processing. This includes experience in designing, validating, and operating a range of microbiological tests including sterility testing, bacterial endotoxin testing, bioburden and microbial enumeration, environmental monitoring, particle counting, and water testing. In addition, Dr. Sandle is experienced in quality risk assessment, root cause analysis, and investigation.

Dr. Sandle acts as a consultant, expert witness, and technical adviser to sterile and non-sterile manufacturing facilities, microbiology laboratories, the medical device industry, and hospitals. Dr. Sandle has also undertaken many technical writing and review projects.

Ben is the Business Development Manager at Langfields and has been with the company for over four years. Langfields specialise in the design, manufacturing and fabrication of process plant equipment for the hydrogen, renewable, CCUS, chemical and nuclear industries. They have multiple facilities spread throughout the UK including Salford, Dunfermline, Deephaven, Tamworth, Thurso, Halkirk, Warrington and Worksop. The company are one of the UK’s leading fabricators and help clients with the design, fabrication and manufacture of products such as welded parts for electrolysers, water separator vessels, desalination vessels, reverse osmosis, filtration, hydrogen storage & Process and high pressure process vessels.

Tim Dumenil

Storegga (formerly Pale Blue Dot Energy) is an independent developer of low-carbon solutions including industrial carbon capture, storage, and hydrogen. Storegga has evolved from a consultancy with a flagship R&D project, into a mature international developer attracting global interest for its expertise.

During the last 9 years with Storegga, Tim has developed, led and project managed aspects of the Acorn CCS Project, Acorn Hydrogen Project, Cromarty Hydrogen, Speyside Hydrogen and Hylander Projects. He is a Mechanical Engineer with 30 years of expertise in energy management, energy transition and supply chain leadership with a key focus on brewing and distillation via a range of senior manager roles with Diageo across 15 years and 4 continents prior to joining Storegga in 2014.

Tim thrives alongside inspirational leaders, making rapid decisions in a commercial environment full of fresh challenges, creating value through pursuing the elimination of waste and achieving carbon reduction through efficiency, process innovation and alternative sources of energy. He is a proven business leader in supply operations across the UK, West Africa, Thailand and Australia with a keen eye for strategic and commercial wins.

Andrea is a senior leader in financial services with 17 years’ international experience in the (re)insurance and banking sectors. She’s successfully led local and remote teams focused on claims and underwriting operations; business transformation and enterprise change; IT and information security; service delivery; data management and digitisation; and procurement, supply chain and vendor management. She is currently the Chief Operating Officer at Flood Re, and was previously COO of Hiscox Special Risks. Andrea has also held senior roles in enterprise risk management, compliance, corporate governance and insurance regulation and supervision in complex international environments. She has served as an executive director for entities in the UK and US.

Hannah Melia
