Gilyana Borlikova, Data Science Manager, ICON plc

A Data Science Manager (Principal Data Scientist) at ICON plc. IT Innovation and Informatics Data Science team, responsible for development and delivery of ML/AI solutions. Gilyana has over 20 years of experience in life sciences and 7 years specifically developing and implementing machine learning algorithms for clinical trials operations.

Prior to joining ICON, Gilyana spent 15 years working in several leading research-intensive universities, including the UCD Centre for Business Analytics, University College Dublin (Ireland), University of Queensland (Australia) and the University of Sussex (UK). Gilyana holds MSc in Business Analytics and PhD in Neuroscience. She has extensive research experience with 5 peer-reviewed publications in the field of Machine Learning and 15 peer-reviewed journal publications in Biomedical Research.

Patricia Plesner

Patricia Plesner is the CEO of EcoHotels.com, a provider of eco-certified accommodations. She has previous experience in the hospitality industry having worked closely with Guldsmeden Hotels, a sustainable hotel chain primarily based in Denmark.

Marc Mettler

Marc is a Board Member and Managing Partner Business Development at 3rd-eyes analytics since November 2017. He has more than 20 years of experience in the transformation of the wealth management industry, first as a consultant and later as a banker.

His business focus has always been on the revenue side, for example re-designing the whole offering landscape including pricing structures of Julius Baer, as well as on the re-design of advisory processes. He has project experience across Europe, Great Britain, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Henk Dieteren

As Clinical Supply Chain Solutions Consultant, he currently assists Suvoda with his knowledge in various areas of clinical trial supply management. Prior to Suvoda, he co-founded the clinical trial supplies department at Grünenthal GmbH and served as its Associate Director for 10 years. While at Grünenthal, he developed operational processes and championed risk management procedures to establish the company as a clear market leader in the area of clinical supply chain. More recently, he served as Senior Investigational Medicinal Product Manager at BioNTech SE, where he streamlined data processing operations in the clinical supply chain for personalized oncology therapies. He is an innovative expert in the field of IRT, temperature excursion management, and direct-to-patient logistics. 

Thomas Gibby

Thomas advises on digital technology licensing contracts and data protection compliance within our financial services and insurance group. He is a senior associate and IT sourcing projects lawyer, and Certified Data Protection Practitioner within our IT and tech projects team. He has been with us for over three years and was promoted during his second year.

He specialises in IT and large-scale technology outsourcing projects for insurers and their network of brokers, and public sector bodies and government agencies with their technology procurements and SaaS contracts. He works as part of the projects team to structure, manage and advise on large IT sourcing projects and complex pricing models, in addition to advising on related compliance areas including software licensing and data protection. Thomas also provides strategic advice to tech start-ups as part of our GROW programme.

Thomas has also operated as in-house counsel for Elekta Limited (health-tech), Ricardo PLC (automotive) and The All England Lawn Tennis Club (sports/commercial) and has therefore seen life on both sides of the fence. Clients particularly appreciate his strategic advice that gets to the nub of the issue quickly.

Tim Johnson

Tim leads the firm’s commercial services practice for insurance clients. He works with a number of leading insurers and intermediaries on policy drafting and distribution, compliance and commercial issues. Tim was recognised in The Lawyer’s ‘Hot 100’ for 2022 for his ground-breaking work on the readability of insurance policies.

Tim specialises in advising clients who design and distribute insurance products. He heads up the firm’s specialist policy drafting and distribution team, which has drafted thousands of insurance policies for the firm’s insurer clients and tens of thousands of bespoke policy clauses through its outsourced endorsement drafting service. The team is particularly well known for its academic study with the University of Nottingham into the readability of insurance policies, which showed it is possible to reduce the reading of policy wordings by upwards of 10 years by applying specific drafting techniques.

Tim also advises insurers and intermediaries on commercial and regulatory issues relating to the distribution of products, including compliance with the Insurance Distribution Directive, the FCA Handbook, CASS and SMCR.

Tim applies his in-depth knowledge of product distribution to corporate transactions. Tim regularly advises clients on compliance issues relating to the acquisition or disposal of regulated intermediaries, having advised on over 60 such transactions in recent years.

Tim is well known in the insurance market and regularly publishes articles the insurance press and speaks at conferences and events.

Chris Thomson

Chris Thomson is a Senior Account Director with Treasure Data’s EMEA team. He has been a Data and Digital professional for over 30 years, working with leading Banks, Insurance, and Telecommunications companies. Chris has spent many successful years at IBM, Oracle, Autonomy and recently 8 years in the Strategic Accounts team at Adobe. Chris is now focused on supporting clients discover the power of Treasure Data’s Advanced CDP, and how a more personalised real-time experience can drive customer satisfaction, business growth and loyalty.

 

Estelle Skopan

Estelle Skopan is director of environmental, social, governance (ESG) & sustainability within Volvo Financial Services (VFS), the captive finance arm of the Volvo Group. Serving in her current role since November 2021, Estelle is responsible for all aspects of the development of VFS’ ESG & sustainability program and ensuring alignment with the sustainability efforts of the broader Volvo Group.

 

Estelle is also responsible for designing and driving the VFS sustainability roadmap to decarbonize VFS’s portfolio, support customers and business partners in their sustainability journey to low-carbon and circular business models, develop a sustainable lending framework, and advance VFS’ societal engagement program.

 

Estelle has been with VFS for nearly 20 years, working in various areas across the organization. Prior to her current role, Estelle served as global regulatory compliance director as part of the VFS global legal and compliance team.
