Nozomu Miyawaki

Mr. Miyawaki had made a successful career transition from the language education to the life science business at a leading Phase 1 Site in Japan 8 years ago.

Within less than a decade, he made himself to a senior manager level rapidly and became one of the most influent people in the company, proving his enthusiasm and the talent to develop values to our global sponsors/partners.

Laura Acosta

Laura Acosta is Vice President of Product Management and is responsible for the product direction of the eClinical suite at Anju Software. Laura has 23+ years of experience providing software products to the Life Sciences industry. Laura has played many roles in that time including Development Management and Product Management.  In her product management role, she has worked with many large Pharmaceutical and BioTech companies, and CROs. She has a B.S. in Computer Science from Tufts University and a M.S. in Computer Science from Boston University.

Susan MacDonald

Susan MacDonald gained a BSc in Food Science from the University of Strathclyde and joined the MAFF Food Science Laboratory to work on mycotoxins soon after. She has continued to work in this area for 30 years, and is now Science Lead for Chemical Contaminants at Fera Science Ltd. She heads the UK National Reference Laboratory functions for Contaminants in feed and food at Fera, and is the main expert for mycotoxins and plant toxins. She has over 40 peer reviewed scientific articles, is a member of the FSA Joint Expert Group on Animal Feed and Additives and 2 CEN Working Groups on analysis of mycotoxins and plant toxins. Her current main research interests are mycotoxins and plant toxins in herbal products, contaminants in CBD products and a survey of foods for acrylamide and furans.

Ben Thoren

As Director of Services Delivery, Ben oversees services delivery out of Suvoda’s Bucharest office. Ben has over 11 years of experience in the software industry, holding a variety of positions in professional services, global operations and business development. He has consulted with Fortune 2000 clients across a variety of industries on how to best leverage technology to solve mission-critical business challenges

Thomas Ellmann

Thomas has been an instrumental figure in the DHL Life Sciences & Healthcare sector for over 14 years.

As a Global Sector Team member, Thomas is now leading the cross-divisional development of clinical trials logistics offering. He recently co-authored the white paper “Pandemic Resilience” and is central to business development efforts in DHL’s Global Task Force to support distribution readiness for global vaccine manufacturers, governments, and NGOs. Thomas is also leading the company’s COVID-19 vaccine distribution strategy.

Previously, Thomas was Sales Leader for EMEA, including Emerging Markets in the Middle East and Africa, where he had responsibility for an extensive portfolio of pharmaceutical and medical devices companies. Before joining the DPDHL Group, Thomas spent several years in FMCG and specialty chemicals industries, where he held roles in supply chain and customer services.

Thomas holds a Master’s degree in Physics from the WWU Münster, Germany

Martina Macpherson

Martina has held several global leadership roles in ESG strategy, product development and innovation including Senior Vice President, ESG and Engagement Strategy at Moody’s, Global Head of ESG Index Products and Research at S&P DJI, Managing Director of Sustainable Investments Partners Ltd. and Vice President of ESG Solutions at MSCI. Prior to this, she worked in (ESG) product, research and engagement roles at Insight Investment, F&C AM and at Deutsche Bank AG.

Martina has been a member of multiple sustainable finance associations and policy working groups at an EU and an international level. Currently, Martina is part of The Global ESG Leaders Forum – UK/EU/China, the European Law Institute’s Sustainable Finance Advisory Committee, and the Enterprise Data Management Council’s Working Group on ESG Data, Innovation, Technology and Metrics.

Martina is a visiting fellow in sustainable finance at University of Zurich and Henley Business School. She has an MBA certificate in finance and business from LSBF / UK, and a MA in Law and Human Sciences from University of Frankfurt in Germany. She is a fellow member of the Institute for Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (ICRS) UK, a honorary doctoral fellow of the Institute for Certified Risk Management Professionals (ICRMP) UK, and an alumnus of the German National Academic Foundation (Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes).  Martina is a public speaker in sustainable investing and has co-authored a range of ESG and Fintech books, including “The AI Book” (2020).
