Frederic Carbonnier is a Swiss international finance executive with more than 25 years of successful experience in international banking and finance, with expertise in investments advisory & management, private equity and family office.

Frederic served as senior manager with some of the most prominent banks including UBS, Pictet, Lombard Odier and UBP. Frederic Manages and monitors international investment strategy (portfolio, real estate, private equity, tax, lending, art) for a portfolio of over CHF 500 million. Heads the investment committee at HELMS and Structures and updates the asset allocation. Expert in asset allocation and risk management tools.

Alan Ranger

With a career spanning 30 years, Alan has held a variety of sales, marketing and leadership roles, both in start-up and large enterprise software companies. Before joining Cognigy, he led global market development at LivePerson where, during his six-year tenure, revenues doubled from $223m to $470m. As Cognigy’s VP Marketing, Alan’s focus is on leading and inspiring his high-performance global team to deliver programmes across branding, product marketing, demand generation, events and social media.

Alan is also responsible for leading market expansion in high growth regions such as the USA and the UK, and building a global community of Cognigy advocates, including customers, industry experts, partners and prospects. In his spare time, he is a volunteer puppy trainer for the Hearing Dogs for Deaf People charity and was a coach and referee at his local junior rugby club for 11 years. Jake Hilldrup

Jacob (Jake) Hilldrup is a Technical Director of Enthalpy’s chemistry department for nicotine products located in Richmond, VA. Jake has been at Enthalpy for over 7 years and has helped the company expand its capabilities into numerous new product categories including cigars, e-cigarettes, heated tobacco products, and oral pouches. He has extensive experience in project design, new method implementation, adherence to ISO 17025 compliance, and data review of finished results. Jake is also a member of the ISO US (ANSI) Technical Advisory Group as well as CORESTA. He actively contributes to collaborative and proficiency studies while helping form and continuously improve international standards used to test cigarettes, cigars, ENDS, and tobacco products. He has submitted several topics for discussion including cigar analysis and alternative collections for in vitro toxicology testing. Jake has a strong analytical and regulatory background with a bachelor of science in chemistry from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

Ethan Still

Ethan Sill is the Senior Manager of Enthalpy’s Sample Generation department located in Richmond, VA. Ethan has been in the tobacco industry for six years with specialized skills in people management, quality assurance, and client relationship management. His knowledge of linear, rotary, and sidestream smoke machines has been invaluable to improving laboratory efficiency. Ethan has a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry from Christopher Newport University. He is also an active member of CORESTA, participating in various subgroups including Cigar Smoking Methods, Physical Test Methods, and Smoke Analysis Group.

Nick Davis

Nick Davis Charterd FCSI – Investment Director (UK)

Nick has more than 30 years of experience in investment management. He began his career managing money for individuals at Kleinwort Benson before moving to Credit Suisse Private Bank in 1999. In 2005, he began working with institutional clients, specialising in charities at CCLA and pension funds at PSolve, before returning to managing portfolios for individuals, pensions, trusts and charities at Williams de Broe. More recently, Nick spent 10 years at Quilter Cheviot as a Discretionary Fund Manager, managing investments for private clients in SIPPs, ISAs, and Offshore Bonds. Nigel Blackburn

Nigel is responsible for Cancer Research UK’s early drug development activity, translating novel agent scientific programmes through to clinic. Currently, Nigel and his team at CR-UK Centre for Drug Development manage a diverse portfolio of ~16 novel agents at various stages of development from GMP production, regulatory preclinical studies, through to first-in-human, phase I and early phase II clinical trials.
