Alison Bedenkop is a Senior Director, Patient Recruitment and Retention at Worldwide Clinical Trials. Alison has been in clinical trial research for over 20 years, with the past 13 years focusing on global patient recruitment and retention. Alison is passionate about diversity and inclusion and works towards building greater awareness of clinical trial opportunities in the local community.
Paul Sweet is Head of Customer Experience at the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) – the UK’s statutory compensation scheme for customers of authorised failed financial firms.
Responsible for ensuring that FSCS is known and trusted for its financial protection through outstanding customer experience, Paul is currently running a long term transformation programme which is re-designing how customers of the future will be paid compensation promptly and efficiently.
Paul has over 20 years’ experience in Financial Services operations having previously worked in a number of roles in the Insurance sector. He first joined FSCS in 2016 initially taking the lead on a variety of customer focused improvement programmes, and was appointed Head of Customer Experience in July 2022.
Between 2000 and 2016, Paul held a number of roles at RSA Insurance, including Sales, Operations, HR and Operational Excellence. Prior to that he was a Navigation Officer in the Royal Navy.
Kevin is Vice President of Product with global responsibility for product strategy and delivery of
Medidata’s RTSM solution. Kevin has spent his entire 30 year career in the Life Sciences arena
working in clinical research, medical devices, systems and software delivery, and project
management. Kevin has a well-rounded background that is technology focused and includes a deep
understanding of the Pharmaceutical industry and clinical trial life-cycle. Kevin first started in
IRT/RTSM at ICON Clinical Research in 2002 where he led the Project Management team responsible
for large clients and was instrumental in unique and innovative design initiatives.
Danaya Pratchayanan is a R&D scientist at Elkem Silicones working application development in healthcare, 3D Printing, long-term implants, and drug delivery fields. She has 6+ years’ experience in the silicone industry with previous involvement in the automotive and electronics markets.
Sean is an experienced Sales & Marketing professional with a demonstrated history of success working in the medical device industry.
His 20 years of participation in the fabrication of medical and pharmaceutical grade silicones in both marketing and sales roles has provided exposure to an array of projects with differing customer needs.
Michael Goglia is the healthcare market manager for Elkem Silicones supporting the biocompatible materials direction in both North and South America. He has 14+ years’ experience in the silicone industry, previously in a sales role supporting all the diverse markets silicones play a part in, then most recently taking on a marketing role focused on materials used in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries.
Entrepreneur, industry leader, technologist and speaker . Founder of several successful mobile technology and commerce ventures, he now focuses on building iProov whilst chairing the industry association and undertaking other directorships.
Yufeng Li, PhD, is currently Executive Director of Clinical Development at Qilu Pharma, based in Philadelphia, PA.
Yufeng graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and obtained PhD training at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center at Houston, focusing on cancer immunology and immunotherapy. Subsequently, he spent many years at GSK to discover and develop medicines for cancer patients. Prior to Qilu, Yufeng has also served China biotech companies (Ascentage and Transcenta) to oversee their US and global clinical programs.
Yufeng is active for community based volunteer activities, including serving important roles in organizations such as Sino-American Pharmaceutical Professionals Association – Greater Philadelphia (SAPA-GP). He has established the Pharma360° training program.
Ronald Schaefer is Senior Principal, Consulting. He is also the Consulting Head of the Certifications Programs (CEIV Pharma, CEIV Live Animals, CEIV Fresh, CEIV Lithium Battery, CBTA, etc.) at IATA. He was born in Hamburg, Germany, raised in Mexico and educated in the US. After long-term professional assignments in Germany, Spain, Malaysia, Kuwait, Venezuela and Canada, he has been based in Miami for the last 14 years working for IATA. Before joining IATA, Mr. Schaefer accumulated vast experience in the air transport field working as a consultant for Lufthansa Consulting GmbH, Roland Berger Strategy Consultants GmbH and Ferrostaal México. He has worked on corporate restructuring, strategy, post-merger integration, market and competitive analysis, safety, risk management initiatives among others, in the transportation industry on all continents. Throughout his career Ronald has held positions in Mexico, Stuttgart, Kuala Lumpur, Frankfurt, Cologne, New York, Montreal and Miami.
At IATA he developed in conjunction with the IATA Pharma subject matter expert the CEIV Pharma pre-assessment tools and materials to facilitate successful independent validation of organizations. He also led the initial independent assessment Proof-of-Concept for Singapore Air Terminal Services (SATS) and is now managing the program worldwide. Since its start he has managed ~450 certifications, +1000 assessments and +800 validations.
He is also jointly responsible for the development and implementation of new CEIV initiatives such as CEIV Live Animal, officially launched in April 2018 and CEIV Fresh launched in 2019. In conjunction with the IATA Live Animal and Perishable expert, he is also developing the pre-/assessment tools for validations of organizations and jointly managing the on-going pilots.
He holds a Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.) in Business Administration from California State University at Sonoma and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Georgetown University.
Trained as a neuroscientist, Rohit Nambisan is a product executive with experience leading product development organizations in pharma, medical devices, personalized medicine, health IT, healthcare data and analytics, and AI. Prior to co-founding and leading Lokavant, Rohit was most recently the Head of Digital Product at Roivant and the Head of Product at Prognos Health. Rohit holds an M.S in Management and Engineering from MIT, an M.A. in Neuroscience from Boston University, and a B.A in Cognitive Neuroscience from UC Berkeley.
