Oliver Hall

Oliver joined Make in 2017 to deliver 80 Charlotte Street, a major mixed-use scheme in Fitzrovia, comprising commercial, residential, and retail accommodation and a small public park.  Designed as Net Zero Carbon it is the first All-Electric building for developer Derwent London. Oliver established and leads Make’s internal sustainability working group, Make Neutral aiming to equip every Maker with the information and skills they need to enact change both on projects and in the practice itself. The group oversees internal sustainability education, materials research, conducting project sustainability reviews and progressing the practices approach such as sustainability inductions for new starters; and setting out a framework for reducing our design impact through a Sustainable Design Toolkit. Oliver represents Make on built environment industry-wide sustainability groups, including UKGBC, and has been a panel member for Built Environment Networking and the CTA. He led the team creating the competition-winning animated 3D centrepiece for UKGBC’s virtual pavilion at COP26, which tells the story of the built environment’s resource-hungry supply chain and construction process, demonstrating how we may transition to a circular economy to enable the restoration of our natural world. He is now designing Salford Rise, a green bridge within Salford Crescent Masterplan, of which he is also the masterplanning architect and design guardian. Oliver is a member of the RIBA Schools Visiting Board, which validates schools of architecture across the UK, and is a USGBC LEED-accredited professional (building design and construction). He leads the BCO Next Gen Carbon action area, and is frequently a guest on podcasts investigating sustainability in the built environment.  

Aubrey Verna

Aubrey Verna guides eCOA product development using evolving industry needs and stakeholder-informed insights across sponsors, sites, and patients. Her experience includes building and executing product strategies starting with the creation of roadmaps all the way to product releases. Additionally, Aubrey has experience in the management of global eCOA programs and has oversight of the teams responsible for implementation.

Maurizio Garro, FRM, PRMIA SME

Maurizio Garro works as a Model risk manager at Lloyds Banking Group, where he works as subject matter expert for implementing model risk management policy, governance and framework and lead  the team to implement the activities defined in model risk management framework. He also provides guidance in the identification of models, documentation of model design, assumptions/limitations, administration, output and uses, governance, change management, and input processing.

He has a long-standing experience as an internal auditor, consultant and banker in model risk management and previously worked in the Development and Validation teams of top-tier financial institutions in Europe, U.S., and the U.K. for over 18 years.

Maurizio is a frequent speaker on various topics in risk management, a member of the Institute of Internal Auditor and the Director of the Global Association of Risk Professional (GARP) London Chapter.

He has been supporting as mentor start-ups involved in the development of AI/Machine learning products.

Maurizio Garro received his Master Degree in Economics from the Bocconi University of Milano and a certificate in Financial Risk Management (FRM) from GARP.

Lawrence Buckler

Lawrence Buckler is an Account Executive of Global Sales at Sprout.ai. He has over thirty years of sales and business development experience, having previously led global alliances and partnerships at CloudSense and DocuSign. 

Steve Wallis

Steve is a senior associate at dRMM. He contributes to a range of projects across the studio, with a particular interest in large-scale residential and mixed-use regeneration projects and masterplans for urban renewal. Steve has a keen interest in the environmental sustainability of projects and is a champion of engineered timber and innovative, sustainable approaches.

Steve is currently leading the delivery of Charlton Workstack, a new model for low carbon high density light industrial space, constructed from CLT.

Steve was the project leader and associate in charge of Trafalgar Place, the first phase of the Elephant and Castle regeneration comprising 235 homes of mixed tenure in a combination of townhouse and apartment typologies. Trafalgar Place was shortlisted for the RIBA Stirling Prize in 2016.

Steve has been involved in the realisation of the Sky campus masterplan in West London since 2013. He led the design and delivery of the Sky Health and Fitness Centre, a case study in building with sustainable timber, empowering the health and wellness of its users. Other projects realised or in the works for Sky include MSCP-I, a data centre and MSCP-II & logistics centre. He now contributes to a number of masterplan studies and developments working into established masterplans. He led dRMM’s study for the London Borough of Lambeth for a series of sites in central Brixton, studies for the local authority and prominent landowners in Milton Keynes, and several estate regeneration schemes in London.

At dRMM, Steve is responsible for the continual improvement and peer review forums, and contributes to various dRMM research projects. Alongside his practice, Steve presents dRMM’s projects and research internationally, including lectures across the UK, Norway and Estonia.
