Dr Christine Lemaitre

Dr. Christine Lemaitre was born in Gießen, Germany in 1975 and studied structural engineering at the University of Stuttgart from 1995 to 2000. After working in the USA for two years, she started working at the Institute of Lightweight Structures Design and Construction at the University of Stuttgart as a research and teaching assistant in the area of adaptive lightweight structures in 2003.

Claude Touikan

Claude Touikan is Co Founder & Executive Director of Lead 8. A Madagascar-born Chinese-Canadian, Claude has dedicated his career to the practice of architecture and design. Claude is a registered member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and the Hong Kong Institute of Architects.

Emma Cariaga

Emma joined British Land in June 2014 and as Head of Operations she has responsibility for the development of the Group’s assets at Canada Water.

Nicola Law

Nicola’s passion and creative flare derives from her deep rooted international background, continued travel experiences and at the core, her love of different cultures. It is through this exploration that she is able to sensitively design and create memorable customer experiences.
Nicola has successfully managed projects of varying sizes and complexity where touching on all aspects of design continues to inspire and influence. Nicola is a NCIDQ certified and LEED AP accredited Senior Interior Designer with extensive professional experience in the hospitality and commercial interior design community. An enthusiastic, creative and energetic team player, she has the ability to adapt to an ever changing design environment.

Cees Van der Spek

Judge

Cees has a long history in the real estate and building industry and is currently working for EDGE Technologies (an OVG Real Estate company), a leading real estate tech company from The Netherlands and rapidly growing in Europe and United States.

After a long career abroad when working for corporate companies in the international construction industry (Italy, The Netherlands, Scandinavia), he became an expert in design, architecture and sustainability.

Cees joined OVG Real Estate 10 years ago to be the head of the Sustainability Center. His first project was the first LEED Platinum TNT HQ and the first sustainable lab/office/factory, the Danone Innovation Center, both initiated by his team. The well-known office building The Edge in Amsterdam was the best example of smart and sustainable development and become a blueprint of the future of working.

Today Cees is one of the initiators of the new company EDGE Technologies, a tech scale-up of OVG. With future EDGE buildings in Berlin, Amsterdam and the US, this seems to be the answer to disruption in the global real estate market.

Cees is member of Dutch Architecture Circle, founder of the Archiprix International, member of Corenet Global, Dutch Green Building Council and the Sustainability Council of the Urban Land Institute (ULI). Moreover, Cees is active in the Future of Construction group of World Economic Forum (WEF). He gave lectures at the Technical University in Delft, University of London and University of Brussels.

Harbinder Birdi

Harbinder is a Partner and head of Infrastructure and transportation at the UK based award winning architectural practice HawkinsBrown. He is considered within the industry as an expert in the design and construction of major engineering-led civic projects which include two of UK’s largest infrastructure projects; Crossrail 1 and Thames Tideway. He is the Principal Architect for Tottenham Court Road, Bond Street and Liverpool Street station; three of the central section stations for the new Elizabeth line and is also the Principal Architect leading the designs for the public realm of the central section of Thames Tideway. Harbinder is a previous winner of ’40 under 40′; a prestigious design award recognising the best young architects under 40.

Iain Macdonald

Iain leads the Advanced Technologies Sector at International practice, Scott Brownrigg. He has extensive experience of planning, designing and delivering complex projects characterised by the transformative impact new technologies have in shaping architecture and cities.

Sir Peter Cook

Professor Sir Peter Cook RA, founder of Archigram, former Director the Institute for Contemporary Art, London (the ICA) and Bartlett School of Architecture at University Col-lege, London has been a pivotal figure within the global architectural world for over half a century. His ongoing con¬tribution to architectural innovation was rec¬ognised via the conferral of an honorary doctorate in April 2010 by the Lund University, Sweden. Peter’s achieve¬ments with radical experimentalist group Archigram have been the subject of numerous publications and public ex¬hibitions and were recognised by the Royal Institute of Brit¬ish Architects in 2002, when members of the group were awarded the RIBA’s highest award, the Royal Gold Medal.

Philip Tidd

With more than 25 years of experience in workplace consultancy, real estate advisory, design, and urban strategy, Philip has worked with many leading global organizations across mainland Europe to implement workplace programs attuned to the region’s many cultural and legislative variations. As Head of Consulting Europe, based in Gensler’s Munich office, Philip has a focus on both global and regional clients in Germany and the wider Europe region. With more than 20 years’ experience of working in Germany and across Europe, Philip has also advised numerous European public-sector organizations on how enhanced work environments can lead to improved performance. Through his conference participation, articles, and blogs, Philip regularly explores the meta-themes of how the rapidly changing nature of work impacts people, buildings, and cities. Phillip is an active member of CoreNet Global, The British Council of Offices, and the Urban Land Institute, and also serves as an Adjunct Professor of the Master of Workplace Design course at the IE School of Architecture in Madrid/London. He is an Architecture Graduate of the Royal College of Art in London.
