Ulrich „Uli“ Pillau is an entrepreneur and angel investor. He is founder of apaleo, a Munich based start-up developing a next generation cloud platform for the hospitality industry.
Previously Uli was involved in building up several very successful software companies in the hotel and travel space. His companies included Fidelio Software, today the worldwide leading Property Management System for hotel chains and hotels. Fidelio was later acquired by Micros and today is part of Oracle.
Subsequently he was leading IDeaS, a company offering the first scientific revenue management software for the hotel industry which quickly became the standard Yield & RMS system for hotels around the globe. In 2010, IDeaS was sold to SAS Institute and today is actively managing over a Million hotel rooms with its software.
Between 2010 and 2016 Uli was Managing Director of hetras which invented the first true Cloud PMS for hotel chains.
Apart from his current venture apaleo, Uli invests in start-up companies that develop innovative software and apps. for the hotel industry.

Dr. Michael Toedt is one of the most renowned experts in the field of Big Data and CRM. His professional life to date can be divided into two areas: First, his goal was to take over his parents’ hotel business. After two specialist training courses and experience in the star gastronomy sector, he studied business administration with a focus on the hotel industry. In 2000, he started his second career in the field of CRM at the Schörghuber Group of Companies, and in 2005 founded Toedt, Dr. Selk & Coll. GmbH. Since then TS&C has made a name for itself as a software company and think tank for data-driven management. In 2013, Michael Toedt wrote the CRM guide of the Austrian Hotel Association and in 2015 the book “Big Data” was published, which has since become a standard work. He wrote his doctorate in 2016 on the influence of communication on sales figures in the luxury hotel industry.

Colin is the Regional Sales Director for EMEA at ALICE, a hospitality technology platform. He has more than 20 years of experience in the European hotel, travel, and technology markets. Prior to joining ALICE, Colin was at a start-up pioneering high-speed internet access for travellers. Today, Colin leads ALICE’s European team with the goal of improving hospitality by managing staff work and guest communication across hotel departments.

twenties to study International Business and pursue rugby career.
After 2.5 years in pharma commercial segment as a Service Delivery Manager at Alliance
Sante UK, he moved to clinical supply business and arrived via Fisher Clinical Services sites
in the UK and Switzerland at Novartis Pharma AG in Basel in 2012. Before taking up his
current role, he was responsible for the overall Novartis internal and external clinical trial
distribution.
He enjoys looking into new options and technologies that can enable the improvement of
patients’ experiences with clinical trials.

Lynda’s love affair with data started 20 years ago when she founded a highly successful SaaS company and took advantage of data to increase product usage and generate more revenue. Lynda is still making data-informed decisions every day to achieve faster and better results with measurable outcomes. She so believes in the power of data that she was the driving force in adding an analytics practice to Pythian’s database focus. Heading up Pythian’s Analytics-as-a-Service, Lynda works with companies around the world and across industries to turn data into insights, predictions and products.
She is the co-author of Designing Cloud Data Platforms and was named to the Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada list in 2014 by the Executive Women’s Network. Lynda holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Ottawa and loves to be always active. From coaching girls’ hockey to cycling the 25 kilometers to and from work each day, she’s always in motion. Her downtime is her island cottage, where she kayaks while plotting new ways to use data.
